this highly functional set is crafted in a historicist style featuring neo-renaissance and neo-baroque influences, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.
the piece commands attention primarily through its monumental form, highly distinctive molded cornices, decorative moldings, rhythmic fluting on the lower sections, and richly detailed carved appliqués.

the entire piece is finished in black, which exceptionally well highlights the relief decorative elements.

both elements can be used independently.

at the same time, the design allows the glazed section to be placed directly onto the large chest, creating a single, impressive, tall sideboard or cabinet.

this gives the owner the flexibility to arrange the set according to the needs of the interior.

details and construction

the piece is also fascinating from a structural standpoint.

the large upper section can be dismantled, which is crucial when transporting such a large and heavy piece of furniture.

it features a practical, traditional construction that allows for reassembly.

the large chest (115 cm high) weighs approximately 150 kg, making its ability to be dismantled a significant advantage.

the main bodies are constructed from structural timber clad in natural oak veneer, while the top of the large sideboard is made of beech and pine, also finished with oak veneer; the latter shows signs of past wear, including a depression and numerous repairs—all visible in the photographs.

after cleaning, the piece was treated with a hard wood oil, which highlights the depth of the black finish and protects the wood.

it is important to note that this is not a modern piece styled to look like an antique.

the top of the large sideboard shows indentations, discoloration, and traces of past use.

there are also significant stains on the interior base of the sideboard that could not be completely removed, despite cleaning, sanding, and the removal of some old layers of varnish.

however, these surfaces have been properly sealed with oil.

thus, this is not a piece that has undergone a complete "like-new" restoration, but rather a preserved historical object bearing authentic signs of age.

good overall condition, considering the age and nature of the furniture. Features include:
