The two birds are modelled in different yet complementary poses, creating a particularly elegant and dynamic composition when displayed together. One crane raises its long neck and beak upwards, while the other bends its neck gracefully towards its body. Both figures stand on long, slender legs, with one leg lifted in a naturalistic pose.

The bronze is finely detailed throughout, with carefully modelled feathers, expressive heads, long beaks and textured legs. The dark patinated surface enhances the sculptural quality and gives the birds a sophisticated, almost graphic appearance.
