Chicago-based artist whose work is held
in numerous public, private, and museum collections,
including the Museum of Arts and Design in New York,
the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Rhode Island
School of Design Museum, the Spencer Museum of Art,
and the Tacoma Art Museum. Her work appeared in
Craft Today: Poetry of the Physical, organized by the
American Craft Museum, and in the Smithsonian
Institution’s traveling Threadworks exhibition. Basa
has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago,
the Hyde Park Art Center, and Creative Capital. She is
the author of The Artist’s Guide to Public Art and holds
an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago
and an MPA in public art policy from the University of
