This vintage mid century Danish modern three-seat sofa was produced circa 1960 and features a beautifully crafted solid walnut frame … Read more This vintage mid century Danish modern three-seat sofa was produced circa 1960 and features a beautifully crafted solid walnut frame with the organic curves and exposed construction characteristic of Scandinavian modern design of the period. The sculptural frame features gracefully curved open arms, a gently reclined back and an exposed spindle back. The open construction makes the sofa as striking from the back as the front and allows it to be placed freely within a room.

The sofa has been professionally reupholstered in designer Schumacher “Idora” fabric in Sand. This textured weave combines neutral sand and ivory yarns in a repeating pattern of small raised triangular and geometric motifs, creating a rich, dimensional surface that complements the warmth and grain of the walnut frame. The fabric has a soft fuzzy nap which, combined with its stylized abstract design and warm walnut frame, gives the sofa a distinctive Scandinavian character that works beautifully within organic modern, rustic modern and contemporary Cottagecore interiors. The single full-length seat cushion rests freely within the wooden frame and is held securely in position by two wooden dowels. Three removable back cushions follow the curves of the frame and feature zippered covers.

CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Professionally reupholstered in Schumacher Idora fabric with new Dacron-wrapped foam cushions. Wood frame retains its vintage character with minor surface wear consistent with age.
