A pair of large Mid-Century Modern wall mirrors made by the R-Way Furniture Company of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, circa 1960s. Each mirror features a solid walnut frame with warm brown tones and clean rectilinear lines, accented top and bottom by inset panels of woven cane basketweave trim. The cane and wood are in outstanding condition on both mirrors.
Each measures 50" H x 18" W x 0.75" D vertically and can be hung vertically or horizontally. The glass is 39" H x 15" W and the cane is 3" H x 13.5" W.
These mirrors are quite solid and heavy. The walnut shows an attractive aged patina and the mirror glass is clear and free of significant flaws. On the back are the original production and shipping tags, likely from the 1960s, though they do not indicate an exact production year. There are two screws to hang a wire on one mirror and small metal handles for a wire on the second. They do not include a mirror wire for hanging.
One of the original tags says "denmark" and I think this was the name of R-Way's production line for these mirrors and other products.
There is very minor wear consistent with age, and generally these are in excellent vintage condition with little to complain about.
As a matched set, these mirrors work beautifully flanking a bed, console, or entryway, and bring authentic mid-century warmth to a bedroom, hallway, or dressing area.
