Expand your collection of fine mid-century medical satires with this highly sought-after, authentic Capodimonte porcelain figure group titled "La Puntura" (The Injection / The Shot). Originally modeled by the legendary Italian master sculptor Tiziano Galli and exquisitely cast by master sculptor Luciano Cazzola, this piece was produced by the world-renowned Porcellane Principe workshop in Vicenza, Italy.
The scene brilliantly captures the tension of an impending medical treatment—depicting a flustered, mustachioed physician looking skyward while preparing a hypodermic needle syringe. Beside him, an anxious young woman shrinks back into a teal armchair, clutching a ragdoll tightly to her chest in anticipation of the shot. The oval base is laden with intricate, realistic details including the doctor’s leather medical bag, scattered medical supplies, discarded red slippers on the rug, and a front scroll placard bearing the title.
This magnificent piece serves as an excellent companion sculpture to other classic Italian medical satires, embodying the absolute highest tier of hand-painted, expressive Italian artisan pottery.

Features the crisp, original circular factory base label reading "Capodimonte Porcellane Principe - Made in Italy" topped with the traditional Crowned "N" mark of Neapolitan heritage.
Molded decorative title scroll placard reading "La Puntura" affixed to the front center edge.
Includes the ultra-rare, original factory paper "Certificato d'Origine" hang-tag suspended from the chair rail.
