The wide, deeply grooved frame - showing partly carved and partly stucco works - was covered with fantastic looking so-called "stream gold" and impresses with traditional "bull´s eye" motives and additional delicate stripes with little spheres on the inside. Some spots show slight abrasions of the gold bringing out the red "bolus" (the primer for gilding) which confers this nearly 200 year old, antique Biedermeier mirror a really charming appearance. The backside is closed with brown paper and the solid hand forged ring makes wall mounting easy and safe. A true gem of an early 19th century golden wall mirror in perfect size. This luxurious Biedermeier mirror comes in great original condition, only the mirror plate had to be renewed during the cleaning process. See less
