An antique oil portrait of a noblewoman in a giltwood frame, sourced in England. The sitter is shown three-quarter length in an embroidered gold gown with a red mantle, pearl earrings and a jeweled headdress, a quill in one hand and a sheet of parchment before her. A landscape opens at left; a red drape and column close the right.
Decorative 19th-century portrait in the old-master manner — a strong wall piece.
Condition is honest for the age: craquelure across the surface, small paint loss spot (see in photo 2), and gilt wear on the frame.
