rare and documented french neoclassical salon set comprising a pair of armchairs and a small tête-à-tête conversation sofa, crafted by maison rémy paris in 1986.

the original invoice, dated august 1, 1986, has been preserved and accompanies the set. It identifies the conversation sofa as model p6137 “confident” and the two matching armchairs as model p6136. The pieces were crafted in cherrywood and upholstered in the original tzarine fabric.

the design offers an elegant late-20th-century interpretation of french empire and neoclassical furniture. Its sculptural silhouette is distinguished by gracefully curved sabre-form arm supports, gently scrolled backrests, carved lion-head terminals highlighted in black and gold, and feet ending in dramatic black lion paws.

the original golden-yellow upholstery is finished with decorative brass nailhead trim. Its warm colour beautifully complements the rich tones of the cherrywood and gives the ensemble a particularly refined and theatrical presence.

the set demonstrates the high standard of craftsmanship associated with the finest furniture workshops of the faubourg saint-antoine during the late 20th century. condition

very good vintage condition. The frames are solid, stable and structurally sound. The original upholstery remains well preserved, with a few light signs of age and use consistent with its date. Please refer closely to the photographs.
