An elegant early 20th-century Federal/Neoclassical Revival two-seat settee distinguished by its graceful silhouette and delicate decorative detailing.
The shaped wood frame features long sweeping open arms, slender curved legs, pierced vertical back details and an unusually broad central back panel decorated with classical swags, ribbons and tassels. A vertical arrangement of iridescent shell or mother-of-pearl-type inlays adds an especially lovely decorative accent.
The upholstered seat follows the architecture of the frame, measuring approximately 34 inches across the back and flaring outward to approximately 41 inches across the front. The warm ivory textured upholstery provides a quiet, neutral counterpoint to the rich wood tones and ornate back.
Decorative metal foot caps complete the design.
A sophisticated accent piece with a particularly beautiful profile, suitable for an entry hall, bedroom, dressing area, library or formal living space.
