Each chair retains … Read more A handsome set of four vintage Danish Modern spindle-back dining chairs manufactured by FDB Møbler of Denmark. Each chair retains its original “Made in Denmark — Møbler by F.D.B.” manufacturer’s label with Danish Furniture Makers Control mark.

Featuring sculptural curved backrests, slender spindle backs, shaped solid seats and dramatically splayed tapered legs, the chairs combine traditional Windsor influences with the clean simplicity of mid-century Scandinavian design.

Finished in black, the set has a particularly graphic quality that works beautifully in both contemporary and traditional interiors. Their understated form is characteristic of the democratic Danish design philosophy for which FDB Møbler became known.

Condition: Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear throughout, including scattered scratches, rubbing, edge wear and areas of finish loss to the black painted surface. One chair has some warping to the underside of the seat; however, the chair remains functional and usable. Manufacturer’s labels show varying degrees of age and wear.
