Japanese Porcelain Geisha Sake Cup for your consideration. The cup measures approx. 1 1/4 inches tall. Top diameter measures approx. 2 1/4 inches, footed base diameter approx. 1 inch. Japan, Meiji to Taisho period. Sakazuki-sake cup or small bowl. Porcelain, hand painted geisha holding a scroll in her mouth. Hand decorated with overglaze enamel colors. Cup is housed in finely hand-woven bamboo sleeve. Underglazed cobalt mark on footed base. Very good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Loss to bamboo, mainly to the top lip. See photos. Displays intricately pleasing!
