A distinctive vintage French equestrian award plaque from the 1981 Concours Général Agricole in Paris, celebrating the renowned Percheron horse breed.
The cast metal plaque has a rich green painted ground with raised gilt lettering and decorative detailing along the shaped border. The inscription reads:
“Paris 1981, Concours Général Agricole, Espèce Chevaline, Percherons, Poulinières, Ministère de l’Agriculture.”
It was awarded in the Percheron broodmare category at France’s prestigious national agricultural competition. The reverse is hand-marked “P. Triger,” the horse that won the award.
The original hanging chain remains attached, making the plaque ready for display. Its strong green and gold coloring, sculptural shape, and authentic competition history give it excellent decorative appeal.
A wonderful piece for a French country interior, equestrian collection, library, study, mudroom, tack room, or gallery wall.
