The fringed edges add a distinctive touch, reflecting its era. In 1914 the US Navy was part of the battle of and the occupation of Vera Cruz, Mexico. In 1915 several US Navy Battleships transited the Panama Canal for the first time. I believe this pillow to be of this era. This could have been made as a "been there" remembrance item. Or a wife, mother, sweetheart item.

Has damage to fringe at lower left corner, stains on fringe at lower left corner, stains on yellow lettering, shows wear and pilling. May show minor defects in manufacture and decoration. Will arrive wrinkled. There may be missing ribbon from the holes running along the edge of the pillow cover.
