Dramatic vintage decorative urn by Castilian, featuring a tall flared body in a rich warm terracotta/russet finish embellished with elaborate antiqued brass-tone metalwork.
The standout feature is the highly detailed dimensional bird perched among grape clusters, vines and foliage encircling the body. Additional sculptural leaf-form metalwork forms the base, while an abundant grape-and-vine motif surrounds the broad upper rim. The combination creates a striking Old World appearance with influences of Neoclassical, Hollywood Regency and traditional European design.
The urn has impressive scale and sculptural presence, making it particularly well suited for display on a console, pedestal, large entry table, mantel or within a traditional collected interior.
The underside retains its original Castilian markings and Item No. 3700-B2A. It is specifically marked “Not for Food Purpose — For Decorative Use Only.”
A distinctive statement piece with considerably more decorative detail than a typical vase or urn.
