These exquisitely crafted pieces are by silversmith Henry Wilkinson (see maker’s mark, HW) of Sheffield, England from the mid 19th century, and embody the opulence and refined craftsmanship of the time.
The silver-plated body features a scalloped and fluted design with four ornate scrolled feet. The domed lid is embellished with foliate motifs and hand engraved crest on one side and standing lion on the opposite side. The intricately designed handle is removable, allowing the lid to be inverted and used as an additional serving tray adding to function.
Each server consists of four pieces. The base can be filled with hot water to warm the 2nd tray and nesting 3rd tray which holds the entre’e, and lid is the 4th piece.
