An elegant antique Japanese Nippon covered urn, circa 1900–1911, featuring a hand-painted lake and mountain landscape with extensive gilt, cobalt, raised enamel, and jeweled accents.
The two-handled form includes a fitted domed lid with gilded finial and a pedestal base. The underside bears the blue Maple Leaf “Hand Painted Nippon” mark associated with Morimura Brothers.
A striking and highly decorative example of early 20th-century Japanese export porcelain, with light age-related wear to the gilding consistent with its age.
