Elegant vintage iron and glass console table attributed to Mario Papperzini for Janus et Cie, distinguished by its architectural proportions, graceful geometric ornamentation and deep dark green enamel finish.
The slender metal framework is embellished with Papperzini-style interlocking oval and eye-shaped motifs along the apron and lower stretchers, giving the table a particularly light and sculptural presence. A rectangular glass top allows the decorative ironwork to remain visible from above while maintaining an airy profile ideal for sophisticated interiors.
The combination of dark green enameled metal and clear glass gives the piece considerable versatility. Its narrow 18-inch depth makes it especially useful as an entry console, sofa table, hallway table, gallery display table or decorative accent table where a full-length console is desired without visually overwhelming the room.
For interior designers, the table works particularly well within Italian Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Mediterranean, Neoclassical, Postmodern and contemporary interiors. Its elegant metalwork also allows it to coordinate naturally with furnishings by designers and makers such as Maurizio Tempestini, Woodard, Russell Woodard, Salterini, John Salterini, Mathieu Matégot and René Prou, making it an appealing choice for layered residential and hospitality projects.
Papperzini is particularly associated with refined iron furniture and the Amalfi design vocabulary; period Papperzini console tables are documented with patinated iron construction and glass tops, while later versions of his designs have also been produced by Janus et Cie.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with visible age and use. The original-style dark green enamel finish displays scattered scratches, nicks, paint losses and areas of oxidation/rust, particularly along portions of the frame and edges. These imperfections have intentionally been left visible and contribute to the table's authentic vintage character. The glass top also shows normal signs of previous use. Please refer to the photographs for detailed condition.
