This original painted canvas depicts a classic Texas countryside scene with sweeping fields of bluebonnets, prickly pear cactus, a winding country road, rustic fencing, distant ranch buildings and rolling hills.

The painting features wonderful texture and visible brushwork throughout, particularly in the bluebonnets and foreground vegetation. Soft blue skies and distant hills give the landscape considerable depth.

Presented in an impressive vintage carved/ornamented gilt-finish frame with a neutral linen liner. The substantial frame beautifully complements the Texas landscape and gives the piece a striking presence on the wall.

Signed L.B. Mackrell ’74 at lower right.
