A true single-slab live edge table: one continuous cross-section of a single Saman tree (monkeypod), cut natural edge to natural edge. Not narrow boards glued into a panel with a live edge applied to the outside.

Slab No. 14 is the widest slab in the container: 50 inches across at its broad end, tapering to 34 in at the other, so the top reads almost like a fan. Eight feet long and 2½ inches thick. A large bark-lined natural void runs along the length from the heart of the tree, with a second cavity at the edge. Rustic in the best sense: the character is the point.

The voids are natural to the tree. They have been left open and sealed in lacquer rather than filled with epoxy, so the piece keeps the record of how the tree grew. If you want to see how they sit in daily use, come and look at it.

Seats six to eight, with the broad end giving generous room at the head of the table.

Professionally lacquered top, gloss sheen. Black steel base included; the base design paired with this slab is confirmed with you before purchase. Finished height 30 in.

The first image shows this exact slab finished on one of our black steel bases; the slab is photographed as is and the room is digitally rendered. The warehouse photographs that follow are the same slab before assembly.

Legally imported Saman from Ecuador. For interior use.
