Schafer and Vater, better known for their matte bisque finish Jasperware, created a “wiped” glaze line of porcelain with a high contrast finish between the high points of the white figures and the deep cobalt colored background.
This beautiful, antique teapot dates to between 1896 and 1914 based on stamp on bottom and when this line was produced.
It is seven inches tall and approximately seven inches wide as well. There are no visible chips, cracks, repairs or flaws.
This was a part of my family’s collection for over 100+ years and was always as an objet de’art, never used.
