The cube-form units were conceived to work interchangeably as side tables, stools, or low shelving depending on orientation, reflecting Panton’s broader preoccupation with furniture that could be reconfigured rather than fixed to a single function.

Each piece is constructed from continuous steel wire rod bent into parallel rows and welded into a cantilevered frame, with a smooth nickel-plated or chrome finish. The two examples shown are the same module used in different orientations — one standing as a taller side table, the other set on its side as a lower bench-height surface — demonstrating the interchangeable use the design was built around. Construction is entirely open-frame, with no upholstery or solid panels, keeping the profile visually light despite the rigidity of the welded steel.
