"Modernist Primary Totem" is an original painting from Ryan Rivadeneyra's series of imagined modernist sculptures. In this series, Rivadeneyra explores the possibilities of colorful sculptural compositions that draw inspiration from the shapes and forms of mid-century artists and designers, while adding a natural, geologic feel to the three dimensional forms that defy gravity and scale.

Ryan Rivadeneyra (Miami, 1984) is based in Barcelona, Spain. He has shown in Museums such as the MACBA, Tapies Foundation, and CA2M in Spain, and in galleries such as Flat Time House (London), Galerie Juliette Jongma (Amsterdam), Helmhaus (Zurich), Casa Hoffman (Bogota), or Art Sonje (Seoul).
