A set of four teak dining chairs designed by Henry Walter Klein, 1950s–1960s.
Henry Walter Klein worked closely with Bramin Møbler across several decades, producing some of the most quietly refined furniture of the Danish mid-century period. He's less widely cited than Wegner or Mogensen, but his work for Bramin has a loyal following among collectors who know it, the construction is consistently excellent and the design sensibility is restrained without being cold.
These chairs have a straightforward silhouette: a slightly angled back, clean teak frame, and an upholstered seat and back panel. The frame proportions are good, not too heavy, not too slight. They sit comfortably at a table and look equally at home pulled into other parts of a room.
The frames have been professionally refinished. The teak has been cleaned and treated but not stripped back — the grain still shows the warmth and natural variation of the original wood. Both the seat and back have been newly reupholstered in green simil-bouclé fabric, which works well against the warm teak tone. The green is a quiet, earthy shade rather than a bright one, it reads as considered rather than decorative.
All four chairs are in great vintage condition. The joints are tight, the frames are stable, and the upholstery is fresh. No Manufacturing mark.
