the beautifully figured mahogany top has rounded front corners and is finely outlined with contrasting string inlay, giving the table a particularly refined appearance. The restrained decoration and slender proportions are typical of the late georgian period, when furniture was becoming lighter and more elegant in design.
the shaped frieze is also delicately inlaid and the table stands on four finely turned and tapering legs, with additional supporting legs revealed when the top is opened. The narrow turned legs, with their distinctive ringed decoration, give the table a wonderfully light and graceful appearance.
