A pair of superb quality, extremely rare and very impressive spanish black leather and oak dining chairs in lovely condition. Designed by pierre lottier and made by valmazan in spain in the late 1950s/early 1960s, these sleek, stylish and strikingly attractive chairs exude timeless sophistication and will be a knockout in any interior.
lottier was a french designer based in barcelona whose clients included hollywood star ava gardner. His rare neoclassical leather chairs are renowned for their excellence of design and materials and rightly command incredible prices today.
the sleek clean lines, tall backs, lovely curves, x-form triple-stretcher solid oak base and sumptuous black leather with metal studded trim make these an icon of neoclassical design.
all in all these are outstanding dining chairs by a european design icon. Much sought after, these exude class and quality and will be sensational in any setting.
condition
this stunning pair of dining chairs is in very good condition. Structurally sound and sturdy, they have only minor to-be-expected marks to show their age, which if anything only adds to their genuine vintage appeal. They have the ‘made in spain’ and ‘valmazan’ stamps to the underside and the frames are in very good condition, showing only minor signs of wear. The superb quality black leather is in really lovely condition for its age, with only minor to-be-expected marks, and has been treated to keep it rejuvenated. Overall these are fabulous, very rare and outstanding quality dining chairs in really lovely condition and if well looked after they should remain so for many more decades to come – please see the photos.
