This is a meticulously hand-carved Chinese Buddha statue made from premium Boxwood (Huangyangmu), known for its dense texture and fine grain. The sculpture depicts the Buddha in a serene meditative posture (Dhyana Mudra) seated upon a detailed, multi-tiered lotus throne.
The piece is characterized by its exquisite, pierced-carved backplate (Aureole), featuring intricate flame-like patterns and several smaller seated Buddhas surrounding the main figure. This incredibly delicate carving showcases masterful Chinese artisan skill.
With warm, honey-brown tones and a beautiful polished finish, this vintage piece makes a stunning spiritual centerpiece for a meditation room, an elegant shelf display, or a thoughtful gift for collectors of Asian art.
