Slender iron rods define the fish’s open circular eye, curved skeletal details and geometric tail.

The substantial, non-folding frame features gracefully curved loops that create ample storage for magazines, newspapers, books, records or fireplace logs. Its airy openwork construction and matte-black finish lend a distinctive modernist presence.

The playful aquatic design and expressive linear ironwork recall the functional sculptures of American mid-century designer Frederic Weinberg. This unsigned piece is offered in the style of Weinberg, not as a definitive attribution.
