Material : Pencil reed - (fine rattan and reed rods assembled in parallel lines), a basketry and exotic cabinetmaking technique highly prized in high-end design during the 1970s
The marquetry base attributed to Vivai del Sud (though unmarked) and the symmetry of the design make this a magnificent decorative piece. Whether used as a plant stand or a sculpture, the dark bamboo offers a chic texture with a mid-century patina.
