Natural green dyes were notoriously difficult to achieve and unstable in early weaving traditions, making their successful use both technically demanding and visually striking. As a result, rugs featuring true green fields—particularly of this softness and clarity—are seldom encountered.

The field is adorned with an all-over geometric composition of small-scale Turkmen Guls, the iconic octagonal motifs traditionally woven by nomadic Turkmen tribes throughout Northwest Persia and Central Asia. Arranged in three harmonious vertical columns, these repeated guls create a rhythmic and balanced pattern that is both graphic and timeless, offering strong visual structure without overwhelming a space.

Framing the luminous green field is a richly saturated dark red and rust-toned border, providing dramatic contrast and grounding the composition with warmth and depth. Handwoven from hand-spun wool and dyed entirely with natural pigments, this rug reflects the authenticity, artistry, and cultural heritage that define fine Turkmen tribal rugs.
