Executed in Birdsey’s characteristic loose, modernist style, the composition combines transparent watercolor washes with expressive linear details in shades of blue, ochre, rust, gray and brown. Boats, waterfront structures and the distant shoreline are suggested through economical brushwork and fine graphic accents, giving the painting the atmospheric quality associated with Birdsey’s Bermuda scenes.

The work is signed “Birdsey” at the lower right.

Presented under glass with a wide light-colored mat in a reddish-brown wood frame. The framed piece measures approximately 24 inches wide × 19.5 inches high and is ready to hang.
