The frames showcase the clean, post-radical aesthetic popularized in the 1980s by designers like Hank Loewenstein and Annig Sarian, featuring sculptural, elegantly arched blonde beech wood backs, gently curved rear legs, and clean, uniform cylindrical front legs. A fascinating hallmark of their premium manufacture is the hybrid design of the feet: the front legs are shaped into rounded domes to act as smooth pivot points, while the back legs feature a secure, flush-cut flat bottom for maximum stability. The stools retain their original 1980s white compliance law tags on the undercarriage from Pronto Chair (Registry No. Detroit 441 in West Bloomfield, MI), confirming their heritage as high-quality Italian-imported frames that were finished and custom-upholstered locally in a premium Detroit-metro design showroom. The teal-vinyl padded cushions are incredibly clean, with slight wear typical of vintage age and light use, and provide a gorgeous pop of postmodern color. Condition & Restoration Disclosure: This set is structurally rock-solid and in very good vintage condition. One stool seat bottom was stable but cracked, and has been proactively upgraded from its original factory particleboard to premium, high-quality plywood cut to the original shape and dimension. The original foam and vinyl was reused on the replacement seat board. There is minor cosmetic surface wear to the lower wooden horizontal slats on a couple of the chairs, consisting of small puppy chew marks/indents. These imperfections are localized to the bottom slats, are difficult to notice from standing height. Marks are detailed in the gallery photos. A perfectly uniform set of 4 that is ideal for a modern kitchen island or bar. See less
