Vintage Accolay Lamp – Amber Resin Shade and Ceramic Base
Table lamp from the Accolay workshops, a community of potters located in Accolay (Yonne), Burgundy, active from 1945 to 1983. A characteristic piece of French pottery from the 1960s and 70s, combining handcrafted ceramic and decorative resin.
The lampshade: Cylindrical in shape, it is made of resin containing numerous chips and fragments of amber, gold, and copper, creating a granular and luminous texture highly sought after in Accolay production. The light passes through the resin, revealing the full chromatic richness of the inclusions.
The base: Made of thrown ceramic, with a curved and rounded shape, it is covered with a crackled white glaze enhanced with fine black striations and speckles applied in a spiral, typical of the scorched slip technique practiced by the Accolay potters.
