the table combines an architectural ebonized wooden structure with gilt decoration and a beautifully figured antique marble top, most probably sarrancolin marble.

the rectangular marble slab displays a particularly attractive natural composition of salmon pink, beige, grey and white tones, punctuated by darker red veining.

the apron is richly decorated with gilt vertical motifs framed by fine gilt lines, while the corner blocks are embellished with carved and gilded floral rosettes.

four elegant tapered and fluted legs, highlighted with gilt decoration, are connected by a striking curved x-shaped stretcher. At its center stands a beautifully turned and carved decorative finial, creating a particularly refined silhouette.

the table also incorporates a discreet drawer within the apron. Traditional dovetail construction visible on the drawer confirms the quality and period character of the cabinetmaking.

the inset marble top forms a superb contrast with the black and gold decoration of the base and gives the piece a highly decorative architectural presence.
