An antique franc porcelain footed cachepot probably from Limoges. The piece features hand painted pink and peach roses on a soft green gradient background. It has gilded handles and gilded ball feet. it measures 6" high. The top diameter is 6.5" and the bottom diameter is 5.75".
The piece is marked in gold lettering, "Eleanor Shamal" That is presumably the name of the artist that painted the Limoges blank. In the 19th C, painting blank porcelain pieces was a favorite past time.
