An exquisite 19th-century European oval miniature portrait depicting Queen Louise of Prussia (Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz). This beautifully detailed, hand-painted piece is a faithful rendering of the celebrated 1879 portrait by Gustav Richter. The depiction is instantly recognizable by the Queen’s softly curled updo, her signature star headband, and the sheer white scarf dramatically billowing behind her neck and shoulder.
The oval porcelain plaque is housed in its original, exceptionally ornate Louis XVI style (Neoclassical) openwork frame. Cast in heavy, high-relief gilt bronze (ormolu) or brass, the frame showcases classic late 18th-century revival motifs, including interlocking laurels, delicate leaf scrolls, and a distinct decorative crowning crest at the very top.A timeless and highly collectible piece of European history, perfect for an art wall, vanity display, or miniature collection.
