The glass rests freely on the bamboo cluster, so the sculptural base reads as the true centerpiece of the piece. This style of stacked, unmilled bamboo furniture grew out of organic modern and coastal design movements, where raw materials were clustered by hand for effect rather than turned or arranged to a repeating pattern, giving each base its own one-of-a-kind silhouette.
