An extraordinary, highly collectible matching pair of genuine 1920s–1930s Art Deco figural accent lamps. The sculptural bases are beautifully crafted from heavily patinated white molded alabaster (or carved marble), depicting an iconic European Commedia dell'Arte theatrical vignette. On the left side, a stylized Pierrot clown in a traditional ruffled collar relaxes while strumming a lute, serenading an elegant companion seated next to a classical Greek-revival temple structure.
Positioned behind the figures are stunning, large circular discs of authentic blue and green swirled slag glass. When illuminated by the rear bulb sockets, these vibrant marbleized discs emit a breathtaking, translucent glow designed to simulate a dramatic, glowing full moon night behind the figures. Both glass moons remain structurally whole, uncracked, and beautifully vibrant.

Good antique condition with a wonderful, untouched historic patina. The alabaster bases show age-appropriate wear, including superficial dust build-up in the carved folds, minor surface scuffs, and tiny edge fleabites that authenticate their near-century of existence. Crucially, BOTH slag glass disc shades are completely intact with zero cracks, chips, or repairs. Both lamps feature their historical, unpolarized wiring (including an iconic white Gilbert Bakelite snap plug and a T-shaped Eagle Electric plug) and are fully functional. As with all pre-war electrical antiquities, professional rewiring is recommended for daily modern safety standards. These have been tested initially, but are not being used to maintain longevity. They will be tested again when purchased.
