Elegant Pair of Carved Wood Georgian Revival Lyre-Back Armchairs
A handsome pair of traditional carved wood armchairs featuring distinctive oval backs with pierced lyre/fan-form splats, carved botanical detailing, gracefully shaped arms and cabriole-style front legs.
The chairs have beautifully detailed woodwork throughout, including carved ornamentation along the oval back frames, decorative arm terminals and carved accents at the front legs. The warm, richly toned wood has developed an attractive character consistent with age and use.
Each chair has a generously proportioned upholstered seat currently covered in a textured salmon/rose fabric. The substantial seats and open carved backs give the chairs an elegant presence while remaining highly functional.
These would make striking host and hostess chairs at a dining table, occasional chairs in a living room, statement chairs in a bedroom or dressing room, or distinctive seating in a traditional or eclectic interior.
