The round tray features a raised rope or gadroon-style rim surrounding a beautifully chased center decorated with scrolling foliage, vines, and floral motifs.

The ornate center pattern was both decorative and practical, historically helping disguise the small scratches and marks naturally acquired from serving pieces and glassware.

The underside bears Wm. Rogers markings. This is a silver-plated piece rather than solid sterling, with a layer of silver applied over a base metal.
