Restored mid century modern dining table in solid walnut and bookmatched olive ash burl by Maurice Bailey, produced by Cal Mode in Culver City, CA c. early 1960s.
With the two included leaves, the table expands to a maximum length of 79.75 inches, accommodating up to 8 guests as needed.
Bailey frequently eschewed conventional shapes for irregular ones. The table begins as a rounded square and transforms into an irregular octagon. The diamond tapered legs and sculpted apron compliment the angular surface.
The tabletop and leaves have been fully refinished and show beautifully. The frame is stable, showing only surface-level wear on close inspection. The extension slides function smoothly and support the fully expanded table without a hint of sagging or bowing.
