Each work is individually hand-painted on woven silk and bears calligraphy along with a matching red artist seal. Although the two paintings share the same composition, subtle differences in the feathering, facial details, brushwork, and calligraphy show that they were executed separately by hand rather than mechanically reproduced.

One painting remains in its black wood frame, which appears original or period-appropriate. The companion painting is currently unframed.

The crane is an important traditional motif in Japanese art, associated with longevity, fidelity, peace, and good fortune. With their generous scale, restrained palette, and finely rendered detail, these works have a sophisticated presence that suits traditional, collected, Asian-inspired, Japandi, and contemporary interiors alike.

The artist has not been definitively identified. Both works bear the same red seal.
