A very large hanging stoneware sculpture in the abstract expressionist style circa 1967 by renown sculptor Gail Kristensen (1924-2009). Composed of numerous hand built sections of various shapes, sizes, and depths assembled into a unified rectangular form with multiple glazes and incisions. Weight about ~40-50 lbs.
Kristensen was an art professor at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota for nearly three decades. Her work is in the Minnesota Museum of Art, the Rockefeller Foundation collection, the Pillsbury collection, and many others. She also has well known large scale public sculptures at Iowa State University and Unity Unitarian Church in St. Paul.
