Antique French soup tureen made by Sarreguemines. It is a rare item of terre de fer, ironstone, from the Faust series, produced at the end of the 19th century.
The decoration is a deep green transferware with a floral motif in little dircles around the rim.
Clearly it could be used for many things, serving pasta, serving fruit salad, a fruit bowl or just as a decoration piece.
It is in good condition for its age and without cracks but there are marks of previous use and tea-staining visible from age. There is crazing on the surface. Please look at all the photos carefully.
