A decorative piece with a distinctive, folk-art style and a beautiful, naturally weathered surface.

The relief depicts a stylized rider in historical attire, riding a horse amid decorative floral motifs. The entire piece is crafted using a distinctive deep woodcarving technique, which makes the motif very three-dimensional and striking.

The piece currently serves as an excellent wall decoration that will look particularly striking in vintage, rustic, folk, collector’s, and eclectic interiors.

The form and craftsmanship reflect the tradition of old wooden confectionery molds, used, among other things, to make decorative baked goods such as Lebkuchen or speculoos. Given its later use and the condition in which it has been preserved, we currently regard it primarily as a decorative collector’s item.

Condition: good for the age and nature of the item. Numerous visible signs of age, scuffs, chips, and cracks in the surface layer, as well as natural signs of use. These features lend the object an authentic, decorative character.
