Original Danish Radiohus pendant lamp, designed by renowned Danish modernist architect Vilhelm Lauritzen for Louis Poulsen.
The design was originally created in the 1940s for Radiohuset in Copenhagen, the headquarters of Danish national broadcasting. Its beautifully simple form became one of the classics of Danish modernist lighting design.
The shade is made from white matte opal glass, providing a soft, warm and evenly diffused light when illuminated. It is complemented by the original brass fitting with an attractive natural patina and a textile-covered cord.
Shade height: approx. 25 cm.
The lamp is fully functional.
Good vintage condition consistent with age. The glass presents beautifully, with a small chip to the lower rim, as shown in the photographs. The brass fitting shows an attractive natural patina and signs of age.
