One of Jo Hammerborg's earliest and most quietly beautiful designs for Fog & Mørup — the Corona pendant features a … Read more One of Jo Hammerborg's earliest and most quietly beautiful designs for Fog & Mørup — the Corona pendant features a sculptural two-part conical form joined by a contrasting black lacquered band, and when lit, the cyclamen-pink interior of that band casts a vivid purplish-pink glow across the brushed aluminium cone, deepening the warm, tonal atmosphere the lamp creates.

The Corona was Hammerborg's very first design for Fog & Mørup, created in 1963, and it established the "rim over slit" light effect that would define many of his subsequent lamps. The principle is simple and brilliant: a slot at the midpoint of the cone allows light to escape sideways, caught by the cyclamen-pink band that reflects it back as a warm, coloured halo.
