this sculptural desk lamp is a striking example of dutch mid-century lighting by hala zeist, one of the netherlands’ pioneering lighting manufacturers, founded in 1932 in zeist. The company built its reputation under design director h. Th. J. A. Busquet, whose functionalist, bauhaus-informed approach to lighting design shaped hala’s output through the postwar decades and earned the firm a lasting place in dutch design history.
