The fixture is an excellent example of the futuristic lighting aesthetic that emerged during the space age. Its broad, flattened circular body creates the classic flying-saucer silhouette, executed in glossy black lacquered metal and accented with polished brass. A wide brass band encircles the body, creating a strong graphic contrast against the black surface. Additional brass detailing appears around the suspension, lower rim and central elements, giving the otherwise minimalist form a refined decorative quality. The underside incorporates a large textured glass diffuser framed in brass, together with a smaller circular frosted glass diffuser at the center. When illuminated, the textured glass produces a warm and atmospheric light while emphasizing the concentric geometry of the design. The long slender brass suspension rod enhances the visual impression of the fixture floating beneath the ceiling. The original manufacturer’s label remains present and identifies the piece as ludib bratislava, type z-04/ii, czechoslovakia. The pendant has been carefully refurbished and professionally rewired with new electrical components, while its original vintage character has been preserved.
