A rare and sculptural set of two dining chairs with armrests from the iconic ‘Strip’ series, designed by Gijs Bakker for Castelijn in the 1970s. Executed in richly stained black laminated ashwood, these chairs exemplify Bakker’s architectural, conceptual approach to furniture design.
Bakker—best known as a co-founder of Droog Design—crafted these chairs with interlocking wooden slats, forming bold, graphic silhouettes that feel both minimalist and monumental. The precision of construction and ergonomic shaping speak to the Netherlands’ rich tradition of innovative, high-quality craftsmanship.
